I’m Blaž – the guy behind the pots, pans, and plenty of kitchen experiments. For over 15 years, Blaž kuha has been my cozy corner of the internet where I share recipes, food stories, and the occasional “oops” moment from my kitchen in Slovenia.
It all started way back in 2009. Just me, a small kitchen, a not-so-great camera, and a passion for cooking that was too big to keep to myself. My first recipes were simple – a few classics, some sweet treats, and lots of trial and error (and yes, plenty of messy countertops).
Over time, Blaž kuha grew from a casual blog into a full-blown culinary project:

Practical cooking tips – the kind you’d usually only learn from grandma… or after ruining a meal once or twice.

I published several cookbooks under the Kuhla series – packed with recipes I personally tested (and ate… a lot).

And I opened Bistvo, my little online store, where you can find my books, hand-picked products, and a few surprises.
Now, I’m bringing all that to the English-speaking world. Here, you’ll find everything from quick recipes for busy weekdays to deep dives into cooking techniques like blanching or fermentation. I’ll also share Slovenian food traditions, reimagined classics, and some of my craziest kitchen experiments.
