If there’s one dessert that perfectly captures the spirit of joy in a glass, it’s Halo-Halo — literally meaning “mix-mix.”
In the Philippines, it’s a vibrant medley of crushed ice, coconut milk, fruit, jelly, beans, ice cream, and sometimes even corn!
My “BlaZest Halo-Halo” keeps that playful soul but turns it into a creamier, more elegant treat — with mango, coconut cream, vanilla ice, and a little crunch on top.
Ingredients (serves 2–3)
-
1 ripe mango (peeled and diced)
-
150 ml coconut cream or thick coconut milk
-
2 tsp condensed milk (or to taste)
-
1 handful of crushed ice
-
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
-
2 tbsp crunchy cereal or chopped nuts (hazelnuts, almonds, or pistachios)
-
1 tbsp toasted coconut flakes (for garnish)
Preparation
-
Prepare the glasses – use clear serving glasses or small bowls.
-
Layer it up – start with diced mango at the bottom, then spoon in the coconut cream and drizzle with condensed milk.
-
Add the ice and top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
-
Finish with crunchy cereal and coconut flakes.
-
Serve immediately — the magic happens when everything starts to melt together.
For a stunning, Instagram-ready presentation, serve in a tall glass against a dark background so the tropical colors pop.
You can also add jelly cubes or fresh berries for an extra color layer.
