Preparation

  1. Make the crust.
Cut butter into cubes and combine with flour and ground walnuts. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of a baking dish. Bake at 180 °C for about 15 minutes, until lightly golden. Let it cool completely.

  2. First layer.
Beat cream cheese with powdered sugar, then gently fold in the whipped cream. Spread evenly over the cooled crust.

  3. Second layer.
Prepare instant chocolate pudding with milk according to package directions. Spread over the cream cheese layer. Let it set for a few minutes.

  4. Topping.
Spread whipped cream on top and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.

  5. Chill.
Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours, ideally overnight, so the layers set nicely.

You can make this dessert extra special by serving it in individual jars or glasses. For even more flavor, sprinkle the top with coarsely ground walnuts in addition to the chocolate shavings.
